Bob’s kit is once again heavily focused on mobility and very strong mids. His rolling Spinner Ball stance and wave dash step return with good options, and a bunch of his moves, including his Heat Smash, now have just frame inputs (hitting an input in a one-frame window) where if you hit a button at the right time, you will empower the move. In a string that has even two of these moves, it can be the difference in five to more than 10 points of damage.
One of the first things you’ll want to figure out right away is which of Bob’s normal techniques transfer into Spinner Ball and wave dash. Many of his strings have an option where if you hold forward or down-forward, you’ll smoothly transition into his stances and be able to continue combos and pressure. My favorite, and what feels like the easiest to mix into any string, is Plain Ring (down-forward 4, 3). After the second hit, Bob can transition right into Spinner Ball. Going for his Galette Slicer (2 out of Spinner Ball) will launch them enough to continue Bob’s string.
Another great transition move is Jumbo Pancake (forward, forward 3). Off of hit or block, you press down-forward to go into a wave dash cancel. On block, you can hit them with Langue Washer (forward, forward 3, down-forward 1) to curb them if they try to swing back, or you can finish the combo with Gambero Spin Heel (forward, forward 3, down-forward 3, 4) for big damage.
